With the benefit of hindsight, a 5.5 hour drive from Bordeaux to Serris (suburb next to Disneyland) was never going to great for family relations. To date, the family driving vacation has been a breeze - no major dramas or domestics which has been a great surprise to me! However, I guess our Waterloo was due and on Thursday, I think we had the worst family travel day ever which ended up with us all just yelling at each other and wondering how on earth we could all possibly be related to each other!
We were all so awful I can't even describe the details. Let's just say we all went to sleep fuming and I couldn't believe we were going to have to wake up the next morning and play happy families at Disneyland...

But play them we did! We woke up to a beautiful sunny clear day and headed off with the masses to Disneyland Paris. Henry was so excited he was jumping out of skin on the bus there - Tori was just as excited in a restrained laid back kind of way.

Yes, we did all the tacky things one must do when in dland, including silly photos. Earl and I went on every ride with the kids (bar one when I had just had enough!). I think it ended up 13 rides in total in one day - pretty good I think.
The Indiana Jones ride was the 'big ticket' ride that Henry was dying to go on. We were worried Hen might not be tall enough (1.4m) and unfortunately, we got an anally retentive attendant who decided hair touching the measuring mark was not enough. Things were looking bleak but Earl saved the day - he noticed a changing of the attendants, briefed Hen on thinking tall and voila, second time lucky! Crazy scary ride too!

And so a very long happy day ended 9 hours later (!) with us all reduced to sitting down at the bus stop (no seats), looking forward to getting back to our strangely bland little room in our Serris hotel.

Looking forward to 4 days in Montmarte tomorrow, swishing around Paris tourist attractions and hopefully, avoiding terrorists!
